Two Pen Names, One Universe: How I Built a World for Every Reader

What if one world could hold both the darkness of war and the wonder of childhood? That's exactly what I set out to create — and it took two pen names to do it.

Two Different Voices, One Shared World

My two pen names exist in the same universe, but they each deliver a very different experience.

The first pen name is home to mature, high-stakes storytelling — epic military fantasy, dark paranormal fiction, science fiction, alpha heroes, and all kinds of things that go bump in the night. That same gritty energy carries over into Dragon World, where it gets explored even further in a present-day setting.

My second pen name lives in the same universe but offers something different. It's a little more magical, a little more wonder-filled, and follows characters on a coming-of-age journey. It also quietly lays the groundwork — building out the world and its history — for the darker, grittier adult stories.

Connected, Yet Not

The two series are connected and yet not connected.

They share the same world and the same deep layers of world-building, but they're not the same story. In fact, the young adult series is set 3,000 years before the events of the adult series — giving readers an entirely different era to explore.

Why I Needed Both

The darker, grittier side of my adult books has been part of my life and my storytelling for a long time. But life changed — I became a grandparent, and suddenly I had children and grandchildren helping me build this new world alongside me.

As that was happening, something shifted in me. I wanted to capture the feeling you get when you're talking to a child—that wide-eyed sense of wonder, where everything is possible, and the world feels full of magic.

That feeling deserved its own stories. And that's how my second pen name was born.

A Family Universe

This world has never been built alone. My children contribute to the adult series, bringing their own voices and perspectives to the darker, grittier stories. And my grandchildren help shape the young adult world — the one filled with wonder, magic, and the kind of adventure that feels like it was made just for them. Because in a way, it was. This universe belongs to all of us, and with every book, we're building something we can pass down together.
